AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts 2023 Results: Winners And Grades On July 19

AEW advertised Blood and Guts featuring the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta), Pac and Konosuke Takeshita vs. the Golden Elite (Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page and Kota Ibushi).
AEW also featured Hook’s first loss against newly minted heel Jungle Boy, who donned new all-black gear and new licensed theme music from Beethovens’ Fifth Symphony. Dynamite also advertised Adam Cole and MJF against Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia in the AEW Blind Eliminator final, and yes, they hit the double clothesline for the win.

Jungle Boy Def. Hook
Jungle Boy performed a pre-taped burial ceremony where he “buried” the old Jungle Boy in the middle of broad daylight.
Jungle Boy’s new theme song is now Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.
Hook had Jungle Boy beat with a countout victory, but like a true babyface, he tossed Jungle Boy back in the ring. When Jungle Boy had the same opportunity, he waited it out until Hook slid in at the last second.
There were multiple ref bumps, suggesting Hook was about to lose. That’s exactly what happened as Jungle Boy won with a belt shot like Dominik Mysterio. Taz was furiously.
Despite the magnitude of Jungle Boy’s first singles title and Hook’s first singles loss, AEW immediately cut to the back like TNA in the 2010s.
Jungle Boy vs. Hook Grade: B+
Britt Baker Def. Kayla Sparks
Britt Baker smiled through a quick babyface win, and immediately after, AEW cut to a the back quicker than they did when Hook lost.

MJF And Adam Cole Def. Sammy Guevara And Daniel Garcia
In a backstage prom, MJF said that unlike Sammy Guevara’s “skank” wife, he didn’t need a Plan B.
Jericho walked out for commentary, and despite demanding that the music be shut off, fans sang along anyway.
MJF and Adam Cole debuted matching jackets and trunks.
As a surprise to MJF, Adam Cole debuted new remixed MJF/Adam Cole theme music. It was massively over.
This match started with a dance off because of course it did. Sports entertainment is king right right now. It always has been. AEW took one look at what the Bloodline did with a 40-minute talking segment and said “man F wrestling, let’s dance!”
While Bryce Remsburg counted in the corner, Daniel Garcia backed up Remsburg by aggressively dancing in his face.
MJF did his signature heel spot where he teased a dive earlier in the match, but finally performed the suicide dive at the behest of Adam Cole and the TD Garden.
This match was built around the Double Clothesline, and by the grace of God, MJF and Adam Cole hit the maneuver for the win.
Part of this story is MJF planning on stabbing Adam Cole in the back, only to slowly realize how good it feels to be encouraged and cheered by these fans. MJF told that whole story with his face the moment he hit a conflicted suicide dive. A masterful sports entertainer.
After the win, MJF and Adam Cole teased tension after Cole stared, lovingly, at MJF’s belt only for MJF to call him out on it. They quickly made up, but this otherwise over tag team is on borrowed time. Huge mistake.

The Golden Elite Wins Blood And Guts
Coming off another awesome match against Vikingo, Kenny Omega looked like he was hurting on his way to the ring.
Fans who couldn’t see the action chanted “use this ring,” and like a true heel, Claudio Castagnoli teased using the other ring only to stop short of doing so.
In a nice touch, all BCC members entered through the crowd while all Golden Elite combatants entered through the entrance way.
Seeing these grown men bleed all over each other seemed to cheer Taz up .
Jon Moxley hit the ring and immediately broke out the pliers and shards of glass.
Nick Jackson ran, from one ring to another, and hit a hurricanrana on Claudio Castagnoli, who landed in the glass.
Moxley waited no time bleeding in this match, and that was before revealed the bed of nails.
Kota Ibushi, who is carrying around a little more weight in his return (lookin’ like Bloat-a Ibushi), received a massive reaction.
Pac hit the most impressive spot in this match when he dropped down from the top of the cage and stomped through a table in between the two rings.
Jon Moxley kissed the camera and left a patch of blood in his wake.
Pac and Claudio continuously bickered throughout the match until Pac threw up the double birds, grabbed the bolt cutters and bolted.
As the BCC continued to lose, Don Callis pulled Takeshita from the match. The Golden Elite won by choking Yuta out with a chain.
