How to Get Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2

Throughout your adventures in Remnant 2, you’ll come across a lot of resources that each have their place in crafting. Scrap is the most common resource you can have (and is essentially your money), while things like Iron and Lumenite Crystals are quick runner-ups. One resource only appears in Yaesha, and is conveniently only useful in Yaesha. Here’s how to get Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2.

Where to Find Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2

Blood Moon Essence is found when shooting Root Wisps within the green forests of Yaesha in Remnant 2. Root Wisps are small pink wisps that fly throughout the air. They’re somewhat rare, but our easiest way of finding them was by waiting for the Blood Moon to appear in the Dark Woods section of the game. You’ll know that the Blood Moon is active if the area is covered in a light red mist.

You won’t need to pick anything up as, once you shoot these wisps, they will fly toward you and give you their essence.

What Can You Do With Blood Moon Essence?

Once you have some essence, you’ll want to search those Dark Woods for the Root Nexus. This is a tree that seems almost like it has a gigantic heart nestled in between its roots. It’s up to you whether you want to kill it or not, but you’ll find a Bloodmoon Altar nearby. If you’re having trouble, the altar is marked in blue on the map.

Once there, you’ll be able to spend your hard-earned Blood Moon Essence on various items. These include pieces of armor, an Amulet, a Ring, and a melee weapon. Most important of all of these items though is the Faded Grimoire material. It’ll set you back 15 of these Essences, five Lumenite Crystals, and 1500 Scrap, but it can be taken to Wallace in Ward 13 to make an engram. This engram unlocks the Summoner Archetype. Speaking from experience, the Summoner Archetype is a fun one to play with, especially when paired with something like the Handler for the ultimate pet army. I still can’t beat running the Gunslinger though.
