A total of 58 units of blood were collected at two LifeServe blood drives in Storm Lake this month.
The blood collected has the ability to save up to 174 local lives. The blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and over 130 other hospitals that the LifeServe Blood Center serves.
Several local donors hit milestones with their most recent donation. Russell Camerer reached nine gallons of blood donated…Robert Smith four gallons…Jerri Elder, Theodore Smith, Denise Pickhinke, and Steven Lange all reached two gallons…and Eduardo Guadiana and Mary Burke reached one gallon of blood donated.
Two LifeServe blood drives are scheduled in Storm Lake during the month of August. A blood drive will be held on Tuesday, August 1st from 12:30 to 5:30pm at St. Mark Lutheran Church…and there will be a blood drive on Friday, August 18th from 9:30am to 1:30pm at the United Methodist Church.
