ESC Congress 2023

The Press Programme for ESC Congress – the world’s largest cardiovascular event – is announced today.

Journalists from across the world are invited to 11 Press Conferences. Including the Opening Press Conference on Thursday 24 August, nine embargoed Hot Line Press Conferences and one embargoed Press Conference highlighting the economic burden of cardiovascular disease. Register to attend in-person or online for the hottest ticket in town.

The hot line programme will reveal practice-changing results from major clinical trials covering prevention, obesity, heart failure, arrhythmias, cardiovascular imaging, cardiac arrest and much more. Hot line studies will be presented in Amsterdam and broadcast live online. Tune in here.

Also not to miss: press releases on novel results from the wide-ranging scientific abstract programme covering contemporary topics such as the legal smoking age, sleep, long-term aspirin use, childhood obesity and sedentary time, and the impact of the built environment on health. Plus a tip sheet for the press highlighting particular areas of interest.

Professor Carlos Aguiar, Chair of the ESC Communication Committee, said: “The ESC Congress Press Programme provides an exclusive first look at the most highly-anticipated cardiovascular science of the year. A total of 30 hot line presentations will be given by investigators from around the world. Join us in Amsterdam or online for your chance to quiz the trialists.”

Professor Steen Kristensen, ESC Press Lead, said: “Stay tuned for embargoed press releases on topical issues in cardiovascular science affecting global societies today. In addition, four ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines will be released on endocarditis, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, cardiomyopathies, and acute coronary syndromes, plus one focused updated on the 2021 Heart Failure Guidelines.”

Register now here.

Press releases will be available here when the embargo lifts. Accredited journalists will be able to access embargoed press conferences and other material in the digital press area from Thursday 17 August.
