Canadian Blood Services is renewing its call for blood donations as supply runs low.
In Newfoundland and Labrador, over 900 appointments need to be filled before Labour Day to meet sufficient inventory levels.
Community Development Coordinator at Canadian Blood Services, Gordon Skiffington, says particularly in the summer months, it is difficult to maintain the proper donation levels.
He says with people changing their routines or not including blood donation in their routine, supplies run lower than normal around long weekends and in the summer months.
