The Philippines on Sunday logged 167 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest daily tally in five days, bringing the country’s total to 4,172,920.
The Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracker shows that active cases decreased by 112 to 4,427. This is the lowest tally since April 25’s 4,255 active cases, according to GMA Integrated News Research.
Total recoveries increased by 269 cases to 4,101,900, while the death toll increased by 10 fatalities to 66,592.
The National Capital Region was the region with the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 569, followed by Central Luzon with 381; Calabarzon with 343; Ilocos Region with 248; and Western Visayas with 207.
Among cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most new COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days with 121, followed by Ilocos Norte with 111; Laguna with 99; Cavite with 96; and Cagayan with 95.
The COVID-19 bed occupancy rate is 14.5%, with 3,436 occupied and 20,209 vacant. Among the occupied beds, 2,322 are ICU beds. — BM, GMA Integrated News
