Blood drive Thursday in honor of murdered SPD officer

SHREVEPORT, La. – There’s an opportunity Thursday to donate blood to honor a local fallen hero.

The Shreveport Police Department is hosting a blood drive in honor of Officer Thomas LaValley who was killed in the line of duty eight years ago.

LaValley was also a beloved co-worker at KTBS 3 before his time with SPD.

The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Shreveport Police Department.
