A wedding is supposed to be the happiest period of a person’s life — but not literally.
Kylee, from California, who goes by Trailer Park Princess on TikTok, shared a video last year that has since garnered over 2 million views explaining how her wedding took a bloody turn when she unexpectedly started her menstrual cycle just before she was ready to walk down the aisle.
Posting the video on her seventh wedding anniversary, Kylee said her saga began at a Starbucks, the Sun reported.
Kylee who planned a wedding on a “baller budget” said she got her dress for $150 from a man in a Starbucks parking lot who no longer planned on getting married to his fiancée.
“I tried it on in a Starbucks bathroom,” she said.
“I also got my alterations done at a laundromat just randomly,” she added. “I walked in, I was like, ‘Hey, can you fix this?’ and they were like, ‘Yeah!’ ”
When she went back for the dress, she said the fit was “perfect,” and she was able to pick it up three days later.
On the day of the wedding, however, things took a turn for the worst.
Kylee said her period “wasn’t even due,” but she got it suddenly without warning, just as she was getting ready to walk down the aisle.
“I got the feeling,” she said. “I wasn’t even due for my period, it was just a stressful time, it happened.”
“My little cousin Taylor was holding my wedding dress, spreading it out so it looked pretty. And I suspiciously started lifting it up… We’re both looking at my legs,” she continued.
When she noticed the mess below her, she said she ran away from her wedding and locked herself in a bathroom and “didn’t tell anyone about it.”
Kylee’s cousin ran to get help and came back with her grandma, who had vodka and towels in tow.
“So I’m cleaning my legs, my grandma’s cleaning my dress, my cousin goes out to tell everybody what’s happening… Or at least that I’m not running away from my wedding,” she said.
“Thankfully nothing got out on the outside, it was all on the inside,” she added.
She said her dress is still stained seven years later, and the memories will stay forever.
“And that is how heirlooms are started,” she said.
People shared their personal wedding dress mishaps in Kylee’s comments section.
“This happened to me too. I bought my dress at a thrift store so NBD,” someone said.
“Grandma: I don’t know what’s happening but I know it requires some vodka,” another joked.
“I started my period DURING my brother’s wedding and I was a bridesmaid! Humiliating!!!!!” a third chimed in.
She then shared another video to TikTok, showing her followers pictures from her “perfect day” along with snaps of her dress. Kylee ended her video by saying that “life has been good” for her and her husband. The couple, who were married at 22, now have two children.
“The dress is giving Kate Middleton vibes and I love it,” wrote one follower.
“Oh that is such a nice dress!!!” another said.
Another bride recently shared a custom-made wedding dress she bought which could have left her whole chest exposed had she not gotten it fixed mere weeks before her wedding.
