Bloodworks Northwest will be on San Juan Island at the Mullis Center on Tuesday, Aug. 8 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Appointments to give blood are required.

Bloodworks Northwest is an independent, non-profit organization providing safe lifesaving blood to 95% of the hospitals in the Pacific Northwest. Blood donors are urgently needed now to maintain our regional blood supply. The need for blood is constant and the need right now is at an emergency level. Your donation of blood is vital to the ongoing health of our Northwest communities.
When donating blood it is advised to get a good night’s sleep the night before your appointment. Eat a healthy meal and stay hydrated. After donating blood drink extra fluids, stay away from alcohol and avoid strenuous activity for the following 24 hours. Postpone donating if you have a cold or the flu.
Who can donate? Certain health conditions or medications may prevent some people from donating blood. If you are not sure if you are eligible please contact the Clinical Specialist at 425-656-3077 to determine your eligibility.
