IT’S AN INCENTIVE FROM THE COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER. 25 LOCAL BREWERIES, WINERIES AND RESTAURANTS ARE TAKING PART. BOULEVARD BREWING HOSTED ITS OWN DONATION DRIVE TODAY. AREA BLOOD SUPPLY STILL HAVEN’T RETURNED TO PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS IN THE UNITED STATES. WE RELY ON VOLUNTEER BLOOD DONORS TO COME IN TO BLOOD DRIVES LIKE THIS OR DONOR CENTERS LIKE OURS. AND MAKE A BLOOD DONATION, DONATE THEIR TIME, DONATE THEIR BLOOD SO THAT PATIENTS HAVE WHAT THEY NEED. THIS EVENT RUNS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 10TH. The Community Blood Center has partnered with 25 breweries, wineries, and restaurants to offer a special incentive: a free beer for every blood donation. The donation drive comes as blood supplies in Kansas City continue to struggle in their recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.The drive, which runs until September 10th, allows donors to give blood in exchange for a complimentary beer at one of the participating establishments.”In the United States, we rely on volunteer blood donors to come in to blood drives like this, or donor centers like ours, and make a blood donation, and donate their time, donate their blood, so that patients have what they need,” said Chelsey Smith of the Community Blood Center.
