Pati Werkheiser, who moved to Rossville from Pennsylvania with her family when she was 10 years old, started giving blood at school when she was 17. “It just seemed like a good thing to do,” she said. “I like to help people and I’ve always been interested in medical things.”
“A friend and I started a competition with each other to see who could give the fastest,” Werkheiser said. “When my son got old enough, he became a donor, too.”
