Worthington American Legion recognized for blood drives

The Worthington Memorial American Legion Post 828 received a first-place recognition in the Blood Donor Program for Class 2 this summer at the 104th Pennsylvania American Legion Department Convention in Harrisburg.

Darlene Smail, Post 828 commander, received a plaque for the award on behalf of the Worthington post.

The Worthington American Legion collected 48 pints of blood in 2022 during two blood drives at the post, which netted the organization the recognition. Post 828 will hold its next blood drive on Sept. 21 at 1479 Butler Road, Worthington.
