The American Red Cross estimates that every two seconds someone in the United States is in need of blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses and traumatic injuries.
Rice University Emergency Medical Services (REMS) will help the university community answer the call by hosting a blood drive on campus from 12 to 6 p.m. Sept. 12. To participate, sign up online for any of the available 15-minute time slots. The last available time slots are at 5:45 p.m.
The drive, held in conjunction with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, will take place on the first floor of the Ralph S. O’Connor Building for Engineering Science..
