LifeSouth sees a good turnout of donors on Blood Donation Day

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — September 4th is Alabama Blood Donation Day.

Governor Kay Ivey proclaimed Sept 4th as a day to give blood in response to the ongoing blood shortage crisis.

This day is a part of the National Blood Donation Week which is the first week of September every year.

Our local blood bank Lifesouth is in emergency need of blood — they need all types of blood specifically o-positive and o-negative.

Lifesouth saw a good turnout of donors — over 10 people came in to give blood in less than a hour.

LifeSouth is open until 7 p.m.
