Cincinnati Zoo alligator returns to habitat following near-fatal infection

Lucy, an American alligator at the Cincinnati Zoo, is back in her habitat after surviving a near-fatal infection.In a post on its Facebook page, the Zoo says Lucy’s infection, which was in her tail, required a large portion of it to be amputated.”The vet team was astounded by her quick bounce back after her surgery,” the zoo wrote, saying she’s back in her Manatee Springs habitat after “some modifications were made to her pool to help her navigate with a much shorter tail.”
