Blood Bank of Delmarva calling for donors as blood supply is “critically low”

DELMARVA – The Blood Bank of Delmarva has announced a blood emergency across the region.

We’re told the emergency is the result of low donor turnout this summer, as well as the increased need for blood as a result of summer activities.

The region’s blood supply is reportedly well below the ideal 5 to 7 supply. All blood types are needed, however, type O negative, O positive, and platelets are critically low.
