Celebrating well-known baseball player’s legacy with blood drive at Louisville Slugger Museum

The Louisville Slugger Museum partnered with the Kentucky Blood Center for a blood drive honoring a baseball legend on Saturday.The drive remembered the life and legacy of Roberto Clemente.Clemente became well-known during the 1960s and 1970s while he was playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates.He was also known for his lightning speed, impressive throwing arm and consistently high batting average.While Clemente’s contributions on the diamond left a mark, it is his legacy as a humanitarian and philanthropist that still lives on.He was a cultural hero to many providing relief and giving underprivileged people a voice.Clemente is one of seven players with a sculpture at the Louisville Slugger Museum. It was unveiled in August 2021.
