The Cheruvannur resident, who tested positive, had come into contact with the index case at a private hospital where he had gone as a bystander. He was under observation at Kozhikode MCH after he developed symptoms. His health condition is, however, stable. With this, six Nipah positive cases -including the two deceased -have been reported. Samples of 30 persons, including 15 health workers of a private hospital, tested negative on Friday. As many as 29 persons from other districts who came into contact with the index case have been traced and they include 22 from Malappuram, three from Kannur, three from Thrissur and one from Wayanad. All of them will be tested. The number of persons in the contact list of Nipahpositive cases has risen to 1,080, with 130 more contacts traced on Friday. There are 297 persons in the high-risk contact list, of whom 122 are health workers.
