Our organization is dedicated to providing researchers the opportunity to improve patient care and outcomes within our community, our state, and on a national scale. We have a committed team of healthcare professionals here to work in collaboration on research with the goal of transforming healthcare for our patients and beyond. Our facilities provide researchers an ideal environment for clinical research trials across various medical specialties, and patients a safe environment in which they receive the best care available.

Who is East Alabama Health?

East Alabama Health encompasses East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, EAMC-Lanier in Valley, the Spencer Cancer Center in Opelika, the Auburn Medical Pavilion and a host of other key medical clinic and practices that help provide a continuum of care to patients throughout an 11-county area.

EAMC is a 314-bed regional referral hospital offering a variety of services as well as being home to a level III NICU. EAMC-Lanier provides inpatient services as well as a nursing home, an acute rehab unit and an ambulatory surgery center. 

The Auburn Medical Pavilion houses the East Alabama Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department, outpatient lab and radiology services, an ambulatory surgery center and a specialized Breast Health Center. 

East Alabama Health also offers pharmaceutical services to patients through East Alabama Apothecary, a full-service, compounding pharmacy with four locations including a specialty pharmacy which fills complex drug prescriptions for patients in need of specialized medication.

Meet Our Research Leadership Team

Stefanie Ledbetter, Director

Stefanie Ledbetter serves as Director East Alabama Health’s Office of Clinical Research and Quality at East Alabama Health. Stefanie has been with the organization for more than 25 years serving in quality management and research capacities. She has also served as an adjunct professor for Auburn University’s Health Administration Program.
