European Summit on Acute Cardiovascular Care

The First European Summit on Acute Cardiovascular Care took place in October 2011 at the European Heart House in Sophia Antipolis (France).

The main objective of this summit was to bring together representatives of international acute cardiovascular care working groups or societies, in order to discuss and interact on various challenges faced by health professionals involved in the field of intensive care.
We also perceived this first meeting as a great opportunity to share news and future plans of the working group, discuss potential challenges and opportunities and ways to cooperate.

The event has attracted 50 participants from 22 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech rep, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Latvia, Lebanon, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and UK. Not only cardiologists but also emergentists, intensivists, nurses, physicians, all involved in the process of Acute Cardiac Care were part of the audience, enabling great exchange and debate.

Testimonials

  • Marek Banaszewski from Poland : “The meeting was very interesting, because we could share our experiences and problems in the field of the intensive cardiac care. There is no doubt that in the next few years we should have another subspecialty in cardiology – the intensive cardiac therapy”
  • Ivan J Nunez Gil from Spain: “The ACC summit is an interesting opportunity to improve the management of our acute patients together with a place to establish some collaborative international nets. We will face a big challenge in the next years. Only by means of joint work and research we could compete with other relevant international societies. “
  • Grieco Niccolò from Italy: “A wonderful meeting with a high level panel, interactions between colleagues and interesting for future developments and collaborations “
  • Antoniu Octavian Petris from Romania: “The face-to-face relationship is the real win-win solution for the implementation of high standards in our current medical activity. “
  • David Walker from UK : “This was an excellent first summit of the working group on acute cardiac care. It was useful to compare the organisation of care across the different countries and develop strategies to improve acute cardiac care across Europe”
