The American Red Cross is calling on the help of generous donors to ensure blood and platelets are available for cancer patients during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Many people rely on transfusions for essential care, which is made possible through community donations. The Red Cross will hold a blood drive in Verona from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 7 at St. James Lutheran Church.
Those who donate blood during this time will also walk away with a gift: a $15 Amazon gift card sent via email. To learn more, visit redcrossblood.org/together.
To schedule a donation appointment, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org. People interested in saving time by completing screening questions in advance can head to redcrossblood.org/RapidPass.
St. James is advising Oct. 7 participants to enter the building through the preschool doors located north of the usual entrance from the parking lot to the church. The blood drive will take place on the lower level in the Activities Room.
