ACCORDING TO POLICE, THIS HAPPENED ON GLENCOE STREET JUST BEFORE 5:00. POLICE SAY THEY FOUND THE VICTIM SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND. WE’RE TOLD THEY WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. POLICE SAY THIS WAS AN ISOLATED EVENT. AND AT THIS HOUR, NO OTHER INFORMATION HAS BEEN RELEASED. AND BREAKING OVERNIGHT IN GREENSBORO, PART OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY IS CLOSED FOLLOWING A CRASH. POLICE SAY THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 220 NORTHBOUND JUST AFTER 2 A.M. AUTHORITIES CONFIRMED THAT A LEAST ONE PERSON WAS HURT IN THAT CRASH. ACCORDING TO AUTHORITIES, HIGHWAY 222 NORTHBOUND AND RAMPS BETWEEN I-85 AND I-40 ARE CLOSED WHILE CREWS WORK TO CLEAR THE SCENE. THERE’S NO WORD ON WHEN THE AREA SHOULD REOPEN. WE’RE PROVIDE AN UPDATE BOTH ON AIR AND ONLINE AT WXII. 12.COM. ALL SO IN GREENSBORO, CREWS ARE WORKING TO RESTORE POWER LINES AFTER A UTILITY POLE WAS KNOCKED OVER DURING A CRASH. POLICE SAY THIS HAPPENED ON YANCEYVILLE STREET SHORTLY AFTER 3 A.M. AUTHORITIES HAVE CLOSED YANCEYVILLE STREET BETWEEN 16TH STREET AND EAST CONE BOULEVARD TO TRAFFIC. POLICE DID NOT CONFIRM HOW MANY CARS WERE INVOLVED OR IF ANYONE WAS HURT. ACCORDING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, 91 PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT POWER IN GUILFORD COUNTY THIS MORNING. AND IN HIGH POINT, POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN A SHOOTING AND KIDNAPING. OFFICIALS SAY THAT SUSPECTS ABDUCTED TWO VICTIMS IN KERNERSVILLE ON THURSDAY. AROUND 2 A.M., AUTHORITIES SAY THE SUSPECTS TOOK THE VICTIMS TO A HOME IN HIGH POINT ON WEST DALE DRIVE. WE’RE TOLD THE SUSPECTS ROBBED THAT HOME. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE SUSPECTS ALSO SHOT AND KILLED KRISTIN TILLMAN. LITTLE WHO LIVED THERE. WE’RE TOLD THE KIDNAPING VICTIMS ESCAPED. IT’S HARD TO TELL PEOPLE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD THAT WHERE SOMETHING LIKE THIS JUST OCCURRED, YOU KNOW, BECAUSE THAT’S NOT FORTUNATELY, THAT’S NOT AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE. AND SO, YOU KNOW, I HESITATE TO TELL PEOPLE, YOU KNOW, NOT TO BE NERVOUS OR SCARED BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE MY NATURAL REACTION AS WELL. BUT THIS EVENT IS AS HORRIBLE AS IT IS. IT THIS WAS A TARGETED ACTION. AND, YOU KNOW, IT WAS NOT JUST A RANDOM EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE.
