Donating blood really isn’t scary, according to Carter BloodCare. The donation team members are friendly, it takes less than an hour and donors get plenty of treats and giveaways when they’ve completed their donation.

Carter BloodCare encourages Texans to lend an arm to help neighbors in need at October’s community blood drive. As a thank-you for giving, each person who donates blood with Carter BloodCare in October will receive two pairs of colorful socks: one pair of low-cut ankle socks and one pair of crew socks, while supplies last.

An event is scheduled in Jacksonville from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Postmasters Coffee Compnay, 402 E. Rusk St./U.S. 79.

To register to give blood, visit ww3.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/144021.

For questions, contact Janet Baber, Primary Blood Drive Coordinator, by sending email to [email protected] or by calling 903-589-1829.

By donating blood, Americans make a lifesaving difference for those needing emergency surgeries, children fighting cancer, patients having organ transplants, mothers going through difficult childbirths, and older adults with age-related health issues.
