Dairy Queen is offering a free, small Blizzard to blood donors during the Brendan O’Brien Memorial Blood Drive on Oct. 6 outside the 203 First Ave. E. business.
The LifeServe “bloodmobile” will be available from 1:30 to 5:20 p.m. near the Dairy Queen parking lot. The blood drive is held in memory of Brendan O’Brien, who died after being struck by a car in 2013. O’Brien was a student at Berg Middle School. He was 14 years old at the time of his death.
Iowa Donor Network will also be at the blood drive advocating for their organization. The nearby Haven Vineyard Church will also be giving away free hot dogs and provide other giveaways. Dairy Queen will also have a temporary tattoo booth and bubble station for families.
