Britney Spears’ father Jamie hospitalised due to severe infection

American singer, Britney Spears’s father, Jamie, is battling a serious health issue in the hospital. As per reports by Page Six, Jamie has been suffering from a bad infection that has required surgery, leading to his extended hospitalization in a specialized infectious disease facility.

Britney Spears’s feud with her father Jamie made headlines after he was terminated as the pop singer’s conservator. Now, as per Page Six, her father has been ill and in hospital due to a bad infection. Earlier, TMZ, in a report in August, said that Jamie had been initially hospitalized “several months ago” due to complications arising from a knee replacement procedure he underwent in the mid-2000s. The report further stated that he had lost a lot of weight and appeared exceptionally thin while receiving medical care intermittently.

After Britney’s 13-year-long conservatorship ended, she expressed her strong feelings towards her father in an Instagram post, from October 2022, where she wished for him to “burn in hell.” Jamie, on the other hand, repeatedly denied wrongdoing during his time as conservator, arguing he had saved Britney’s life by placing her under guardianship in February 2008 while she struggled with her mental health.

On September 27, authorities were asked to conduct a ‘wellness check’ on Britney Spears at her southern California home after she posted a video of herself dancing with knives.

Dean Worthy told CNN that a person who was genuinely concerned about her wellbeing, placed this request. “Some would argue this is her expressing her creative freedom, and some might argue this is dangerous and there’s a safety issue or mental health concern,” he added.

The authorities have refrained from naming the person who made the call. Initially, the call was made to the Los Angeles Police Department mental health assessment team, which was later transferred to the sheriff’s office.
