Cops: Rotterdam man drove with blood alcohol level nearly 3 times legal limit

A Rotterdam man was arrested for allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit.

State Police stopped a vehicle on State Street in Schenectady about 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 for a traffic violation. The driver, 33-year-old Ashrf Alhilo, was charged with DWI and traffic offenses.

He was taken to the State Police station in Princetown, where he recorded a BAC of 0.25%. The legal limits is 0.08%.

Alhilo was released and is due in Schenectady City Court on Oct. 25.
