WILLIAMSBURG — The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jamestown Settlement.
According to the American Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds, and volunteer blood donors are needed to replenish the supply. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.
Jamestown Settlement will hold the blood drive in its education wing classrooms, located at 2110 Jamestown Road in Williamsburg near the Colonial Parkway. The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an educational agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, administers two museums of early American history, Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
