ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERVING UP SOME PANCAKES THIS MORNING? WE’RE NOT SERVING ANY PANCAKES RIGHT NOW. JONAH. I’M LETTING THE MEN WHO KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING MAKE THE PANCAKES. THEY JUST STARTED HERE, SO I’LL HAVE ERIC SHOW OVER. GO OVER TO THE CAMERA. MINDY, YOU CAN STEP THIS WAY HERE. I’M MINDY LINDER. WITH ME AGAIN. MINDY, PEOPLE START SHOWING UP RIGHT AWAY. THIS IS ONE OF YOUR GUYS BIGGEST FUNDRAISER. WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE COME THROUGH THE DOOR, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? IT’S GREAT BECAUSE WE GET TO SEE THE COMMUNITY THAT WE SERVE, COME AND ENJOY PANCAKES WITH US, AND THEY KNOW THAT THEY LOVE THE FIRE STATION AND LOVE THE SERVICE THAT WE DO. YEAH, OF COURSE. AND THEY KNOW, I’M SURE MOST OF THE PEOPLE ON THIS FIRE DEPARTMENT. SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE THAT? JUST ANOTHER LAYER OF CONNECTION. THEY GET TO COME IN AND SEE ALL FACE TO FACE BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY, YOU’RE THE ONES WHO ARE THERE FOR THEM WHEN THEY NEED YOU. AND IT JUST BUILDS MORE OF A PERSONAL CONNECTION. I IMAGINE IT DOES, BECAUSE THEN IT’S NOT SCARY TO THEM. THEY KNOW THAT A HELPFUL HAND IS GOING TO COME AND HELP THEM WHEN THEY NEED IT. IT SMELLS GREAT IN HERE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE PEOPLE AT HOME CAN’T SMELL IT. BUT WHAT’S ALL HERE FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY? WE HAVE PANCAKES AND EGGS. ALL OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE DONATED BY LOCAL COMPANIES AROUND TOWN. SO WE HAVE COFFEE, MILK, ORANGE JUICE. IT’S GREAT. AWESOME. MINDY, THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE APPRECIATE IT, GUYS. ALSO, THE BLOOD DRIVE IS STILL GOING ON. THAT’S IN THE OTHER ROOM AS YOU GUYS SAID IN THE ANCHOR INTRO, THE BREAKFAST HERE TILL NOON, THE BLOOD DRIVE AT ONE JONAH. I WILL TRY MY BEST TO SERVE SOME PANCAKES, BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE WANT TO EAT AND THEY DON’T WANT TO EAT FOR ME. THEY WANT TO EAT FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
