State Rep. Brad Stephens (R-20th) will host a blood drive in Leyden Township inviting constituents to join him from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Leyden Township Senior Center, 2601 N. Mannheim Rd., Franklin Park to donate blood.
“With Halloween ahead of us, constituents can trick and treat early at my October blood drive,” said Stephens. “By donating blood, you can give a vampire a trick and make a lifesaving donation for someone’s treat! Schedule an appointment today to make a lifesaving impact for your neighbors in need.”
Constituents can schedule an appointment by visiting vitalant.org, clicking “Donate Now,” and inputting the Group Code ORD0007F. While appointments are preferred, walk-ins are also welcome. This blood drive is in partnership with Vialant.
According to Vitalant, patients in hospitals, surgical centers, and emergency treatment facilities need approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells every day. Regular blood donations also give donors the opportunity to undergo mini-physical examinations, checking vital signs and hemoglobin levels.
Constituents with questions can call 773-444-0611 for more information about this event.
