LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Blood donors have the opportunity to give back to a first responder in need.
Local bars are celebrating ‘Make a Difference Month’ this October with two community blood drives.
Vitalant kicked off the initiative on Wednesday by accepting donors at Distill in Summerlin.
Firefighters from Professional Fighters of Nevada and the Burn Foundation of Southern Nevada showed their support.

According to a statement, the pandemic and summer traveling have caused a recent decline in donors.
Blood donations and proceeds from the sale of a Tito’s or Jack Daniel’s cocktail and #VegasStrong shirts and jackets will benefit the Professional Firefighters of Nevada.
The next blood drive is set for October 26 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Remedy’s in Henderson.
