Blood donors needed at upcoming clinics in Orillia

Canadian Blood Services is urging people to donate at upcoming clinics in Orillia as it struggles to keep up with demand.

The organization says more than 4,000 new donors are needed each month in Ontario, and more than 48,000 new donors are needed this year.

Local residents can do their part next month, as clinics are scheduled to take place Nov. 9 from 1 to 7 p.m. and Nov. 13 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn and Conference Centre, 400 Memorial Ave.

All blood types are needed, especially O-negative since it can be transfused to any patient.
