OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV/CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – Rock sensation Bret Michaels has moved to adopt a heroic husky who was named after him.
The husky first gained media attention after he saved the life of a kitten with a blood transfusion at the Nebraska Humane Society (NHS). Michaels caught wind of the husky’s story and reached out to the NHS for more information about the dog.
“I could not have been more touched and more honored to adopt Bret Michaels the husky, knowing that he gave blood to save the life of a kitten. I could not work fast enough to adopt this husky and extend the awesome quality of little Bret Junior’s life,” Michaels told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
The NHS told KMTV that the Poison front man won’t be getting the rock star treatment and will need to go through the whole adoption process.
Until then, the canine will be living it up at a foster home. The NHS also gave the station an update on “Thorn” the kitten, telling KMTV that he was doing well and would be up for adoption in just a few weeks.
