A total of 90 units of blood were collected at two LifeServe Blood Center blood drives in Storm Lake this month.
The blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and over 130 other hospitals served by LifeServe. The amount of blood collected has the ability to save up to 270 local lives.
Several donors hit milestones with their most recent donation. Nancy Sliefert reached 12 gallons…Allen Fredericksen and Kari Hansen-Limbert eight gallons…Jay Ponsor six gallons…John Bauer and Robert Noll four gallons…and Tion Schuknecht, Shelley Flaherty, Kaitlyn Wagner, and Jeffrey Groves all donated one gallon.
Four LifeServe blood drives are scheduled in Storm Lake during the month of November. Two blood drives will be held on Tuesday, November 7th. One will be held at Buena Vista University from 10 am-2:30 pm and the other will be at St. Mark’s Church from 12:30-5:30 pm.
A third blood drive will be on Wednesday, November 15th at Storm Lake High School from 9 am-2 pm. The final blood drive will be on Friday, November 17th at the United Methodist Church from 9:30 am-1:30 pm. Make an appointment by texting “LIFESERVE” to 999-777.
