Opinion: San Diego blood donors are disproportionally White. Patients are suffering because of it.

Individuals of Asian/Pacific Islander, Black and Hispanic/Latino descent are more likely to need transfusions to treat certain genetic blood diseases. Blood from those of the same descent is much needed and in short supply.
