Give the gift of life this holiday season: Donate blood with OBI

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Give a gift you can’t buy this holiday season and donate blood with Our Blood Institute (OBI).

Donors who participate during November and December will receive a limited-edition Grinch T-shirt.

As a bonus, now through January 12, blood donors can earn double Donor Store points by downloading the new OBI mobile app, along with scheduling and keeping their donation appointment.

The OBI donor store will be open from December 2023 through January 2024 to redeem points.

Dr. John Armitage, President and CEO of OBI said “Our donors have continued to ensure that the local blood supply is able to meet the demand. This year, we continued to face challenges and obstacles. As we enter this holiday season, we encourage you to take just an hour out of your busy schedule to give the precious gift of life this holiday season”.

Anyone healthy and 16 years old or older can give blood.

16-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission.

17-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds.

18+ year-olds must weigh at least 110 pounds and a Photo ID is required for all donations.
