Wrestling icon Cinta de Oro headlines Lucha Libre Por Vida: A two-day fundraising festival of life and hope for El Paso’s Corazón de Niños

A tag-team event featuring some of El Paso’s biggest names in the world of Lucha Libre are preparing to lay the smackdown on youth heart disease.

Wrestling icon Cinta de Oro, together with The Manor at Ten Eleven and Lucha League Wrestling of El Paso will host Lucha Libre Por Vida: A Celebration of Life & Hope, a two-day fundraising festival and gala benefiting Camino Real Rotary Club of El Paso’s non-profit organization, Corazón de Niños

Things kick off Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. with The Gala at The Manor at Ten Eleven, before giving way to an outdoor Lucha Libre festival in the parking lot next to St. Rogers Depot at 420 N. Campbell St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 5.

The weekend event will showcase local wrestling stars including Lucha League’s undisputed champion CJ Campos, Skybird, wrestler Hitt from Reynolds Wrestling Academy and El Paso’s very own 11-year-old wrestler Lobito.

The bill will be rounded out by headliners like international sensation and former WWE superstar Cinta de Oro, as well as special guests such as Alberto Del Rio, Dos Caras, the legendary Fray Tormenta, the Original Nacho Libre who inspired the 2006 cult classic film and many more luchadores.

Apart from thrilling matches, the family-friendly event will feature the rich cultural heritage of Lucha Libre.

During the festivities, the newly founded El Paso Wrestling and Lucha Libre Hall of Fame will proudly announce its first wrestler inductees — all of whom were born on the borderland — including Canario 1, Cinta de Oro, Cassandro El Exotico, and Hurricane Hector.

Corazón de Niños is a nonprofit organization that provides cardiovascular surgeries and medical procedures to children with congenital heart disorders.

Founded as the primary initiative of the Camino Real Rotary Club of El Paso, Corazón de Niños is committed to improving the health and well-being of children in the border region of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez.

Tickets for the event run $25, while children 12 and under get in for $10.
