MISSOULA, Mont. — The Montana Red Cross challenges Montana State University and University of Montana fans to compete to see who can donate the most blood.
The “Cat-Griz Blood Battle” will run for the next two weeks in anticipation of the MSU-UM football game Nov. 18.
Donations have dropped nearly 25% nationwide, and the Red Cross needs to collect 10,000 additional blood products each week over the next month.
The Red Cross says even though one school will be announced as the winner, the real winners are the patients who depend on the donations.
