The Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America and Our Blood Institute are holding a dual fundraising and blood drive in five of OBI’s donor centers.
From now through Wednesday, Nov. 15, every blood donation made in the name of the Scouts will go toward the goal, which could earn a $10 contribution from OBI to local food banks in support of the Last Frontier Council’s “Scouting for Food” drive.
Blood donors simply need to self-identify as supporting the Scouts to qualify. According to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, a $10 contribution can equal forty meals. Canned food donations are also welcome.
For their lifesaving generosity, blood donors also will receive a “Don’t Be a Grinch!” holiday-themed long-sleeve T-shirt for donating.
As a bonus, now through Jan. 12, blood donors can earn DOUBLE Donor Store points by downloading the new OBI mobile app and scheduling and keeping their donation appointment! *Double points valid only on appointments scheduled through the OBI mobile app and applicable to base points. Appointments must be completed by Jan. 12, 2024, to qualify. The OBI donor store will be open December 2023 and Jan. 2024 to redeem points.
“We are excited to help Scouts, and their families and supporters, fulfill their ‘Be Prepared’ motto as they help the blood supply and food pantries across our community especially as we enter the holiday season,” said Dr. John Armitage president and CEO of Our Blood Institute.
The designated OBI donor rooms to make this unique “double donation” are:
• Norman 1004 24th Avenue, N.W., Norman, OK 73069
