Blood donations needed in North Queens

Each person who signs up to help quell the region’s blood shortage can help surgery and cancer patients, accident victims and new mothers and babies. Information on how to donate blood or schedule a drive is at nybc.org. Upcoming drives include:

• Bus mobile sponsored by Queens Community House, 12 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at 67-09 Kissena Blvd. in Flushing;

• St. Fidelis, Madonna Room, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 123-06 14 Ave. in College Point;

• St. Anastasia, 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 45-05 245 St. in Douglaston;

• Temple Beth Shalom, ballroom, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 171-39 Northern Blvd. in Flushing;

• Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament, cafeteria, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 34-45 202 St. in Bayside;

• Department of Parks and Recreation, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at 26 Meridian Road in Flushing; and

• NYPD 109th Precinct, muster room, 12 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 37-05 Union St. in Flushing.
