Put me in coach: Blood gets promotion from Orioles

In late October, the Baltimore Orioles replaced their outgoing director of draft operations with an internal hire, Mount Airy’s own Matt Blood, who was elevated to become the vice president of player development and domestic scouting for the team.

In his new role he said he will continue to oversee the development side of drafted and signed players but said, “The big difference is now I am over the draft versus only overseeing player development.”
