In the Southern Urals, over 45,000 tons of imported fruits have been inspected since the beginning of 2023, revealing eight types of quarantine objects in 44 cases. The regional service Rosselkhoznadzor reported that legal measures were taken against infected sub-quarantine products of foreign origin. Specifically, 44.6 tons were destroyed, and 282.8 tons underwent quarantine phytosanitary disinfection. Import of five batches was completely banned from entering the region.
As the New Year approaches, special attention is given to mandarins, a traditional symbol of the holiday imported to the Southern Urals from China, Pakistan, and Turkey. In the region, 250 tons of mandarins were imported in the fall alone, and since the beginning of the year, nearly 638 tons have been brought in.
