Niagara hospitals mitigating surge of viral infections

Niagara Health has redeployed its patient vaccination team, as the hospital system copes with a surge of viral infections in the region.

In addition to offering vaccine boosters to hospital staff, infectious disease specialist Dr. Karim Ali said the hospital system has “resurrected our inpatient vaccine team for a short period of time” to provide influenza and COVID-19 booster shots to eligible patients.
