Two businessmen shot in cold blood over the weekend

This past weekend can be described as a black weekend as two business owners were fatally shot.

Paul du Plessis was shot in front of his business in Ga-Nala on Friday, November 24.

Constable Angel Makubu, spokesperson of Kriel Police said an unknown man shot Du Plessis when he closed the gate at his business.

More shocking news followed when another businessman from eMalahleni was fatally wounded during a home invasion in the early hours of Sunday, November 26.

John Wickham was shot while protecting his wife, Magda from the robbers.

He was rushed to Belfast Hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival.

Wickham was well-known in the South African Bass Angling Association circles.

Police have since launched a massive manhunt for the killers of both the businessmen, and urge anyone with information to report to the nearest police station.
