Blood drive Tuesday in Lewisville

TRUMAN — Martin County Pheasants Forever is hosting Martin County Youth Day Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Martin County Fairgrounds, rural Fairmont. Lewisville Ambulance is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the American Legion in Lewisville. If you have questions, call (507) 236-4433. Please give someone the “gift” of life on Tuesday.

Truman City Council meets 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, at the municipal building. The public is welcome to attend those meetings.

Vacation Bible School, for children ages 5 and up, will be held 3-6 p.m. Aug. 29-30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. Activities include snack, crafts, songs, scavenger hunt and games. Please contact Ashley to register at (507) 829-9741.

Household hazardous waste collection will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in August at Prairieland Solid Waste in Truman. Bring your old cleaning supplies, old gas, oil and garage/automotive items for FREE. Also, appliances and electronics are accepted for a fee. Tires are not accepted.

The MN Department of Natural Resources is waiving all entrance and vehicle permit fees on Sept. 9 at MN State Parks.

• Lewisville Fire Department will have a burger bash from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 10.

• Truman Ambulance pork chop feed fundraiser will be from 4:30-7p.m. on Sept. 11.

• City-wide cleanup for residents only of the City of Truman will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until the dumpster is full on Sept. 23.
