Local blood drive helps 117 people across Wabash Valley

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – More than a hundred lives will be saved, thanks to the community’s generosity.

Our station recently teamed up with Versiti Blood Center, for several blood drives this week, in memory of 9-11.

Fifteen units were collected from the drive at First Robinson Savings Bank, seven units from the drive at First Vincennes Saving Bank, and seventeen from the drive at Baesler’s Market in Terre Haute.

The average unit saves three lives, so this will make a difference, for 117 people! That’s a 39% increase in the number of people we were able to help last year.

WTWO wants to thank all who gave blood during this effort and all of our community partners who helped make it happen.
