Stanley County High School National Honor Society hosting LifeServe blood drive tomorrow in Fort Pierre; Donors still needed

The Stanley County High School National Honor Society and LifeServe Blood Center are holding a Community Blood Drive tomorrow (Oct. 3, 2023) in the old high school gym in Fort Pierre.

LifeServe Blood Center Territory Representative Abbie Arneson says donors are welcome between 12:30 and 5:30pm CT.

Arneson says if you donate one pint of blood in this drive, you are still eligible for the Tyler Wilcox Memorial Guns n’ Hoses Blood Drive coming up Nov. 29, 30 and Dec. 1, 2023.

In January 2022, LifeServe Blood Center replaced Vitalant as the only supplier of blood and blood products for all of Avera’s hospitals in South Dakota– including the ones in Gettysburg, Miller and Pierre. Arneson says LifeServe’s name recognition is growing throughout the region.

Arneson says the blood and blood products LifeServe collects are a vital part of treatment for some injuries and a variety of illnesses.

Arneson says blood donors who would like to transfer their lifetime blood donation records from other blood collection entities to LifeServe may do so by going to lifeserve.info/transfer.

Again, to schedule an appointment for tomorrow’s blood drive in Fort Pierre, go to www.lifeservebloodcenter.org or call 605-626-1620.
