Detectives confirmed they are treating the death as suspicious and are following a positive line of enquiry.

One neighbour told the Record how a blood-stained man burst into the street and began screaming for help in the street before emergency services were called.

“Then he went back into the house and my neighbour phoned emergency services.

“There must have been a commotion. My motion cameras picked up activity outside through the night.

“When I woke up and looked out the window, there were police all over the street and a house was cordoned off.

“A man had just moved into the house last week but I’d never seen him.”

She continued: “I went outside to speak to the police and they told me someone had been killed and and asked us to stay indoors.

“This is normally a really quiet street and I have kids I send out to play all the time. This makes me think twice.
