Sign up to donate blood

“Donate Today, Save Lives Tomorrow” is the motto of the New York Blood Center, which is seeking donors as the state faces a blood shortage.

Anyone interested in helping either via a blood donation or a financial gift to the nonprofit may visit nybc.org.

There are six upcoming donation events in the Eastern to Southeast Queens region:

• Our Lady of Lourdes (gymnasium), 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 92-96 220 St. in Queens Village; Blood Drive Coordinator: Ellen McCrae;

• Gurdwara Sikh Cultural Society (basement), 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 95-30 118 St. in Richmond Hill; Blood Drive Coordinator: Inderjeet Singh;

• Baba Makhan Shah Labana Sikh Center (bus mobile), 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, at 113-10 101 Ave. in South Richmond Hill; Blood Drive Coordinator Inderjeet Singh; and

• York College (atrium), 12 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. in Jamaica; Blood Drive Coordinator Dr. Jean Phelps.
