Lights, camera, donateCommunity Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, is giving blood donors the opportunity to be a real-life action hero for a local patient this holiday season when they give blood during the Movie Mania Donor Event on Wednesday, November 22 before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

The Movie Mania event is sponsored by Certified Financial Advisor, Michael Vaughn with Pinnacle Family Advisors. Donors that give Wednesday, November 22 will receive a $10 Fandango movie voucher, which allows you to watch a first-run movie at any participating theatre. Donors will also receive a free Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt and a chance to win two tickets and a parking pass to Kansas City’s December 31, 2023, game against Cincinnati – an $870 value.

The event will be held Wednesday, November 22 at all four Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Donor Centers in Springfield, Joplin, Bentonville, and Springdale. Donation hours for the Movie Mania Donor Event are:

“As we enter the holiday season and everyone is looking forward to celebrating and spending time with family and friends, we just ask that they remember those in the hospital who are dependent on blood donations for hope and healing,” said CBCO Media Relations Representative Michelle Teter. “Please make blood donation part of your pre-holiday preparation plans. Your donation is one of the greatest gifts you could give this holiday season to help local patients.”

To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment at www.cbco.org/moviemania or by calling 417-227-5006.

As the holiday season approaches, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks wishes to thank the thousands of blood donors, volunteers and advocates that are directly responsible for saving local lives every day. Thank you for giving life to your community.
