VIDEO: AI could ‘shift’ practice in pediatric infectious diseases

NEW YORK — In this video, Matthew Might, PhD, discusses his keynote address at the Infectious Diseases in Children Symposium on how artificial intelligence could “shift” practice in pediatric infectious diseases.

Might is the director of the Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine,

“Physicians aren’t going anywhere, but I think that what physicians do is certainly going to shift,” Might said. “Use that clinical intuition you have — it’s incredibly valuable — but know that you don’t have to know all the 10,000 or 20,000 rare diseases out there. There’s a tool beside you to help you catch those cases when they happen.”
